One major thing that makes me passionate for Dual Immersion education is my own history as an English Language Learner. When I entered Kindergarten, I did not speak English. I understood very little of what my teacher was saying to me and that was a major source of anxiety for me. Many students enter a Dual Immersion program with similar anxieties. I understand that sensation and as a result, I strive to lead so that Bixby is a warm and welcoming school.
I consider myself a teacher first and my role as instructional leader of Bixby the most critical aspect of my work. My diversified assignments over the years as a Classroom Teacher, Program Facilitator, Social Emotional Learning Coach, Program Director, and Assistant Principal have helped prepare me for my role of Principal at Bixby. I am passionate about the work we do and the success of every Bixby student.
I am confident that this will be a wonderful year, filled with many successes and memories. Thank you to each of you for your continued support of Bixby. It is because of you, the students, and our dedicated staff that Bixby is such a special place to learn. I look forward to partnering with you this year to ensure a fantastic year.
